Worklife

Laboring for the loose change. Yes, I do it too. Despite the fact that I don’t really want to do it, I have to in order to pay for the things that I want my life to become. During the March Break, I’m going on a 10-day trip to France and Italy, which is costing me about 3000 bucks. Plus, I plan to attend college for Animation in the near future. And that’s not going to be cheap. Likely, you’ll hear me mention those two facts of my life in future posts.

To give you the details of what I do at work on nearly a daily basis…well…just read this.

I work at a holiday retirement home called Anchor Point. You ask why it’s a holiday retirement home? Well, that’s because it’s like 5-star living for people who are above 70 years old. Or…something like that. Yep, it’s fancy. We’re required to wear tuxedos while we serve food. Imagine that. Me in a tux….don’t you just wish you could see it? Well…chances are you won’t catch me in it.

My usual schedule is:

Monday-OFF!

Tuesday-5:30-7:30

Wednesday-5:30 – 7:30

Thursday: OFF!

Friday-5:30 – 7:30

Saturday-12:30-3:30,5:30- 7:30

Sunday-12:30-3:30

I work as a server. Basically, we ask orders like you would in a restaurant(except we can’t use pen and paper!) and serve their food. We bus the tables, then set them up again for the next meal.

That’s my worklife in a nutshell…er….a retirement home.
